Yeliz Dilaver was born in Istanbul. She graduated in Interior Design from the Faculty of Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. Since 2012, Yeliz has been studying for a master’s in Architectural Lighting Design at the University of Wismar. During her studies she started working in a lighting design office in Istanbul and Berlin. Recently, she is working at an architectural lighting design atelier, which is Vuku Design in Istanbul.

Natural light relationship with humans: from past to future
According to monotheistic religion, the story begins with expelling the first human from heaven and sending him to earth. During the evolution of human, natural light had affected on people in many ways such as it had mystical meaning for them, sometimes it gave them fear and it was the sign of god. At the present time natural light has been changing the meaning for impact of the human life. The ancient time people related the natural light with religious, but for now we are talking about scientific way of natural light.
The natural light is one of the most effective elements for human comfort and quality of human life. But what is the meaning of the natural light? Which attitude is the important of lighting design, with a sense of design or with a computation of design? Before answering these questions lighting designer should understand how influence of natural light has changed under the culture, the architecture and the art roofs in the course of time.
