Lighting design for the elderly
As people age, they have a higher risk of developing age-related eye diseases and conditions all having an impact on everyday life. As the elderly sector grows, there is an increasing need to describe how effective lighting design can contribute to an independent life of older people. By analyzing the actual lighting conditions and develop general guidelines for innovative lighting design solution, it is possible not only to improve life quality and prolong independent life of elderly citizens but also to minimize the economic impact on society. With our presentation, we hope to inspirer to an acknowledgement of the need for improved lighting design in elderly care homes.
